Derya also sings and plays Turkish folk music, artist name Derya Tezcan. Born and raised in Sweden, having parents from Istanbul, Derya has always felt connected to the beautiful sounds of Anatolia. Every week, she takes her listeners on a tour of Turkey’s seven different regions. Each week, one song request, one region, recorded live at home on crude equipment for her listeners to enjoy on Youtube and Facebook. To do Turkish folk music justice, Derya hopes that she’ll soon learn how to play the instument “Bağlama”, but for now, her first love- the Guitar- complements her voice just perfectly.
